About us

Saarioinen Eesti’s brand new factory was established in 2009 with the aim to start developing and producing a new ready-to-eat product line called Mamma. The annual capacity of the factory is nine million kilograms and the assortment follows the needs and preferences of our customers.

Our corporation has invested more than 200 million Estonian kroons (12.8 million euros) of its own funds in the factory. Modern equipment guarantees that the products are produced with the highest quality, the strictest hygiene regulations are met and fast cooling systems make sure that the products have longer storage


Our 6000 sq meter factory gives jobs to 200 people. All Saarioinen Eesti’s facilities are smoking-free.

1941 y.

Nowadays owners acquired Saarioinen.


1953 y.

The first canned food production was established in Sahalahti, Finland. The first product was canned beetroot.

1957 y.

First ready-to-eat-meals factory in Sahalahti. The first products – liver bake, meatballs, cabbage rolls and semolina foam – are still in production.

1964 y.

Golden rooster was chosen for Saarioinen brand logo.


1972 y.

Canned food factory was opened in Huittinen, Finland.

1995 y.

Saarioinen Eesti OÜ was established.


2002 y.

Saarioinen Eesti OÜ acquires the majority of shares in Estonian ready-to-eat food company AS Meleco.


2009 y.

Brand new factory was opened in Rapla.
